StreetSpot ("we," "our," or "the App") is a real-time vendor discovery platform connecting street vendors (Founders) with nearby customers (Finders). This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you interact with StreetSpot.

01Location Data Collection (GPS)

StreetSpot relies on GPS-based location data to provide its core functionality. We collect location information differently depending on your role:

Founders (Vendors)

GPS coordinates: Collected when you explicitly tap 'Go Live' to pin your location on the map.

Precision: We use device-native geolocation APIs. Coordinates are accurate to approximately 10 meters.

Duration: Your pinned location is stored in-session only. When your closing time is reached or you go offline, your pin is automatically removed.

Background tracking: StreetSpot does NOT track your location in the background. GPS is only accessed when you explicitly request it.

Finders (Customers)

Map center: If you grant browser location permission, the map centers on your position. This is processed client-side only and never sent to our servers.

No storage: We do not store, log, or transmit Finder location data at any point.

02Vendor Mapping & Public Profiles

When a Founder goes live, the following information is displayed publicly on the StreetSpot map and is visible to all Finders:

Business name: The vendor name you provide during login.

Description: Your short vendor description (up to 120 characters).

Pinned GPS location: Displayed as a map marker to help customers find you.

Closing time: Shown alongside a countdown timer so customers know your availability.

Gold status: If you are a Gold subscriber, your pin receives a distinctive gold marker and appears in the Featured Vendors section.

All vendor map data is ephemeral. When your session ends or your closing time passes, your pin and associated information are permanently removed from the map. We do not maintain a historical record of vendor locations.

03Information We Collect

StreetSpot collects the minimum data necessary to operate:

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, or any form of government-issued identification.

04Data Protection & Security

We employ the following measures to protect your data:

Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and StreetSpot is encrypted via TLS 1.3.

No persistent storage: Vendor session data is held in application memory only and is not written to disk or any long-term database.

Payment security: All payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. StreetSpot never receives, processes, or stores your credit card number, CVC, or billing address.

Third-party access: We do not sell, share, or provide your data to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

Map tile provider: We use CARTO dark basemap tiles. CARTO's own privacy policy governs tile request logs.

05Payments & Subscriptions

StreetSpot Gold is a weekly subscription priced at $0.99 USD/week, processed through Stripe. When you subscribe:

Redirect: You are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout page. StreetSpot does not handle card details.

Statement descriptor: Your bank statement will show "STREETSPOT" as the charge description.

Tax category: SaaS - Personal Use, as configured in our Stripe product settings.

Cancellation: You may cancel your Gold subscription at any time through Stripe's customer portal or by contacting support.

Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

06Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data on StreetSpot:

Opt out of GPS: Deny or revoke location permissions in your browser/device settings at any time. The app will still function but cannot pin your location.

Go offline: Toggle your live status off at any time. Your pin and all associated data are immediately removed from the map.

Data deletion: Since we do not persist data beyond your session, closing the app or your browser tab effectively deletes all your information.

Cookie usage: StreetSpot uses sessionStorage for temporary state management only (vendor ID, business name). No tracking cookies are used.

07Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable regulations. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
